Given that there's nothing to say (except uber-feature I have planned that I can't do until I find my camera lead) all I can do is give you a list of my recent downloads, for funs. I would recommend them.
Most of them.

Barricades - Fyfe Dangerfield

I have a rule, when a song gets popular and I like it: I can only admit to liking it if I can prove I'm not all about the fads. In other words, I need to listen to another song by the same artist. In this case I'm responding to the Always A Women thing. Which is a great song.

I don't like this one quite as much, but it's good. Slow and beautiful if a little bit wail-y. And it reminds me of Shrek, for no apparent reason.
Also Fyfe is from Moseley. Which is good.

When love is a howling face

Trapped in a hollow place

I won't surrender
Or give you up
Mr Blue - Catherine Feeny

BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY, this is the catchiest tune. It's cute and will stick in your head but also has a bit of meaning behind it that makes it a nice song.
A really nice song. Leapt straight into my "I like these" playlist.

So I leave you with a smile
kiss you on the cheek
and you will call it treason.

My Heart Is Yours - Justin Nozuka

Instantly forgettable. In fact I can't remember what it sounds like, so no lyrics.

Pack Up - Eliza Dolittle

I think Eliza is my new girl crush. I love this song because it's summery, it's cheerful, it's catchy, it's a little bit different. People say she's the new Lily Allen but I think there's something a bit less contrived about her that makes me really like her as a person.

She said pack up your troubles,
get your old grin back,
don't worry 'bout the cavalry...

Rewind - Diane Birch

Aaaaagh I love this song so much! It's so beautiful, but more importantly her voice is fabulous. I could listen to it all day. Especially this song though, I can feel the emotion and it's just so good!!

There are many things that I would
like to say to you
but I don't have the words in my head

So that's my pointless posting of the week. See ya later fellaz.

Okay, soo...

The bulk of my pre-exam work is fin, therefore I've decided its okay to be blogging occasionally.

So I'll catch up on my friday fill-in-the-blanks from Lauren , shall I?

There's two weeks worth here, by the by.

1. One song that always takes me back to my youth is: S Club 7 - Bring it All Back. (This makes me feel young, but it's true. 1999. My ultimate holiday song :D)

2. My first concert ever was: Hear'say. God, this is getting embarrassing.

3. If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there (I'll pick 5 so this doesn't get boring): Florence + The Machine because she's unbelievable, Lady Gaga because everyone can boogy to her, Busted because they were sick, Owl City because I love him and I want to hire him for my personal lullaby-maker, and er...Look Out Henry. Hell, they need the exposure if nothing else.

4. The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is: Hmm. Shall we say the music of silence? Yes.

5. The best concert I've ever been to was: I will have to say Hear'say because that's the only one I've ever seen. Ha. Except the Big Dorridge Gig which doesn't count because it was free.

6. A memorable musical moment for me was: This one time, the whole class started singing Greenday- Wake me up when September ends and I just went whoaaaa.

7. The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is: Boys Like Girls - Two is Better Than One and Daughtry - September. Idk why. I'm writing sad stories, that's why.

1. My absolute favorite movie of all time is: Moulin Rouge. I could watch it till the cows come home.

2. My favorite movie as a child was: Beauty and the Beast, because she was me and I loved it.

3. The best movie quote ever is from: I don't knoow. I don't remember any of the deep and profound ones.

4. My favorite actress is: That's too hard to think about.

Gosh I'm selling out alot.

5. The movie I could watch over and over: Grease. I know it's cliche but it is JUST FAB. Reminds me of good times, has songs...etc.

6. My favorite movie genre is explosions, very little plot, someone dies at the end, I cry. Popcorn?

7. A movie I'd like to watch this weekend is: I'm watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest right now. So that, I suppose.

There's nothing on the TV,

nothing on the radio,
that means that much to me,
nothing on the tv, nothing on the radio,
that I can believe in.

I love Razorlight, truly-dooly. However, that is not what this post is on, in fact it's on Chris Brown and Crawl. I've been watching the UK top 40 (because as I said in lyric form, there's nothing on the TV, although I haven't checked the radio) and Chris Brown is back. This may be old news, I don't know.

The unfortunate thing is that I actually really like the song.

If we crawl
'till we can walk again
And we'll run
Until we're strong enough to jump
And we'll fly
Until there is no end.

Mostly just the chorus, the rest is pretty rubbish. Anyway, the point is that I feel bad liking it after what he did to Rihanna. Is this something that the public is really willing to forget? I mean, I don't know the whole story behind it - oh to be a fly on the wall - but I can't see it any other way than a man hitting his girlfriend, and I honestly believe that that is ALWAYS wrong. Always. Period. And I'm pretty flexible with my morals.

I'll tell you what else bugs me (brief distraction - *ooh*, fireflies is on!) is the video. Have you seen the girl? Mega-star, hair shaved on one side of her head, remind you of anyone? Now, there's meekly creeping back into the limelight and releasing a serious-type ballad so people will see your contriteness, contrition?, but this is basically capitalizing on the whole scenario! That's just wrong. What, you expect us to forgive you because you're wearing nerd glasses and need to learn how to walk? I'm sorry but no. Absolutely no.

But...I do quite like the song...

Over and out,

Emma x
